3 Things You Need To Know about the NCAA Tournament

ZZZZZZ ... I see sleep deprivation in my future. My prime REM time will suffer. ...ZZZZZZ

Sunday, March 12, is Daylight Savings, meaning more daylight (but I lose an hour of sleep). Combine this with the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, which officially kicks off Tuesday, March 14, (with two of the "First Four" games) and then rolls into a nonstop weekend of basketball, and I'm looking at a lot of late nights and hoop dreams.

Kentucky, UCLA and North Carolina will be dancing in my head, as about a dozen teams have A shot at winning the title.

Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17 are basketball marathons from about noon till midnight on the East coast; they are like Christmas day for me times two.

So while you are buying a washer clutch kit ( part No. 285785), a water valve or an ice maker at McCombs Supply

1.  WHERE TO WATCH THE DRAW AND GAMES

The 68-team field for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament 2017 will be drawn on "Selection Sunday," March 12 from 5:30-7 p.m. Eastern Time. on CBS, which has the exclusive rights to air the selections process (ESPN will show it on a delay). the official draw and brackets live from 5:30-7 p.m.

This is when the fun starts, as talk of upsets and who got the best draw begins. At hat point, "March Madness" gets interesting.

The games will air on TBS, TNT, TruTV and CBS.

3. MAKING YOUR PICKS

Everyone is looking for the "upset" games, the game that seperates you from the competition the office pool (just for fun, of course). Here are some key numbers: 108-0. That's the record of No. 1 seeds against 16-seeds.

According to ESPN, No. 6s have won 72 of 108 meetings (67 percent), although No. 11s have won five of eight matchups the past two years.

And while No. 12s have never taken all four meetings in the tourney, they've been shut out only three times (1988, 2000, 2007), says ESPN.

So have fun watching the tournament, and between games be sure to check out the website of McCombs Supply, a trusted source for fast shipping appliance parts since 1953.
