Tip Tuesday: Cleaning Out from Under Your Refrigerator with the Dundas Jafine Appliance Brush

Hi, welcome to Tech Tip Tuesday. My name is Lisa and I'm from McCombs Supply, and we are here to discuss this handy little appliance brush by Dundas Jafine.

What is an appliance brush? Well, it's a specialized brush used to clean appliances. Um, why would you need to clean them? Well, lint builds up in appliances. Washers, dryers, refrigerators, they all collect lint. And one of the things you should do, if not spring cleaning for sure, is clean out the lint that builds up around them. Stay tuned, I'm going to show you the gremlins that may be living underneath this refrigerator.

I am going to clean out from underneath this refrigerator with our handy-dandy Dundas Jafine appliance brush. I'm a little afraid to be honest, I have no clue what lives underneath there.

Ooh. Oh, my. Look at all the lint that that just pulled out.

Now, why would you want to do this? Why do you clean your refrigerator from underneath like this? Well, this lint builds up in the refrigeration and it does not—the refrigerator won't cool efficiently. So, you want to keep the lint clean. You want to clean the refrigerator, clean it of any lint.

So, I would do this a few times, and clean the brush off just by pulling the lint off. That's as easy as it is. And then I would go back in and I would do it again until it's clean. But this handy-dandy little brush—uh, just a little bit over $6, so I'm going to put the link below on the website, and uh, you'll want to grab one of these. Everybody in—every household should have one.

Okay, so you just saw me clean out the lint from underneath the refrigerator here at our work, um, our work refrigerator where everybody puts their lunches. Um, but this brush can also be used um, inside of a dryer where, you know, you clean out your lint basket, right? And you always take the lint out of the—the lint basket and you throw the lint away. But the lint basket sits inside of a space, and that space always has lint in it also, which you can't get just by pulling up the lint basket. So, this brush will literally go into that section and you can just clean the lint right out of it.

So, not only is it great for refrigerators, it's great for dryers, and washers, and underneath stoves just like this. You can literally go behind them if you wanted to to try to collect any sort of lint that builds up.
