McCombs was great, easy ordering and quick delivery. Unfortunately the replacement part that GE makes is just as bad as the original part. It's a piece of cake to install but the ice maker light started flashing immediately after I installed the new part. I tried the reset feature a few times and that didn't help. Two of the forks looked like they were bent and stuck to the metal part of the ice maker a day after installation and when I removed the stripper arm to check it one of the forks broke off. The reason I bought the new part to begin with was because the arm broke into several pieces and fell in the ice bucket, so basically I had the same problem with the replacement part. It needs to be made out of metal or aluminum.
The ice maker still works without the stripper arm but the ice does not form as perfectly and you occasionally have to clean the back of the bucket out because the ice sticks in the back but since the replacement arm doesn't do any good, I guess I'm stuck unless I decide to replace the entire ice maker which is probably the better option - $49 dollar on this site.
Just like the one before it, tine snapped after install. Keeps getting caught! We removed it and filed it down. Hopefully this will work. Better quality would be nice.
