I bought two replacement fans prior to this one. When I plugged them in and turned them on, the electrical coil burst into flames in 2-3 seconds. I bought this one from a different supplier and installed it with trepidation while I had some helpful plumbers here doing other work. The plumbers who were also Versant in electrical wail checked the supply with a meter and could find no reason this should not work. Turned it on and it ran perfectly and still does. Turns out the prior ones with same compatibility chart had 3 wires to the plug and this one had two wires to the plug. Apparently the 3 wires has a ground wire that shorted out the fan. So, get this one and not another. Look at the number of wires from original fan to connection and be sure new fan has the same number. It’s nice to have a working hood vent again. I thought I would need a whole new vent if I blew up a third fan.
