A customer came to McCombs Supply the other day with a dryer problem. It wouldn't spin or tumble. 

The dryer, would however, heat up, which eliminated the heating element being the issue. 

He wanted to buy a thermal fuse, and said he was hoping it wasn't a motor issue. 

I explained to him that it wouldn't be a motor issue, either, not if the dryer was heating up. 

If it has heat, but won't tumble, nine times out of 10 it is going to a problem with a dryer belt.

He bought the fuse (part no. 3392519), because it only cost $1.26 and it he still thought that was the problem, but I told him to go home and check the belt. 

About an hour later later he was back holding a ripped belt. We sold him dryer belt 341241, which fits Whirlpool, Sears Kenmore and LG brand dryers, and costs $3.99.

Now that summer is coming to an end, there will be less time to hang clothes outside to dry. This means you better have your dryer working properly. 

Here are parts that could break or need replaced on your dryer. 

DESAMKIT

This brand new dryer repair maintenace kit (DESAMKIT) for Samsung includes Belt (6602-001655), Idler Pulley (DC93-00634A) and drum rollers (DC97-07523B). Cost: $38.95.

So when the dryer is apart, now is  good time to replace all these parts. Since these parts all work in sync with each other, they should all be of the same quality to ensure the dryer is working at its full potential. 

Other parts on a dryer that break and need replaced include the thermostat (part no. 6931EL3001). 

Many times if the dryer is not heating and it is not the heating element causing the problem than the thermostat might be the issue. 

Dryer control knobs also stop working and can be replaced. The WE1X1263 is a popular replacement dryer knob.
