I have an old 1954 GE fridge and I thought I would have to buy a new one once this one died. Since I know to start with either a thermostat or freon, I figured I didn't have much to lose by trying this part. Since my old part wasn't the plug-in type, I had to make an adjustment, but it was easy. Now my fridge is working better than ever. $14 sure beats $1400 for a new fridge!
