The fit, form, and function of this unit is exceptionally close to what the OEM for my Carrier furnace needed. The only difference being in the "pigtail" that is attached to this unit, where in the OEM has a direct connection to spades on the unit. Odly enough this unit is supplied with the adapter that makes this a plug and play unit. Replacement was easy with the removal of 3 securing screws, 1 screw for the ground, attachement of the adapter, white to white, black to black, install of the new gasket, (included) (may need the use of a little tape to hold in place until blower motor is attached), Install of the three mounting screw, install of the grounding screw. done. Turned furnace on, unit was so quiet couldn't tell it was operating except by the exernally monted motor cooling wheel rotation. Cant speak to the longevity of the unit as it has only been installed for 4 days, however at the price savings over the OEM units, I expect I could replace it several times over the life of the unit and still be money ahead.
