I bought the ones with metal inserts first and they did not fit. The ones I took off were plastic with no metal inserts and that was the only kind that fit for my whirlpool washer. Luckily it’s a cheap part but go with the plastic to be safe!

This part was exactly what I needed to fix my washer. The washer made a loud humming noise during the agitation and spin cycles with out moving. Also love the fact that it has no metal insert, since I saw where those can strip the shafts.

When compared to units with metal inserts, this unit provides better results i.e. strongest and better proformance.
