Replacement fan for Broan 665N bath exhaust fan

Posted by Unknown on 24th Aug 2018

I can verify the other reviews stating this works to replace the exhaust fan motor in a Broan 665N bathroom exhaust fan. Had to reverse the mounting screws; to do this first remove the 2 long screws. You then have to remove the round metal castings on the front and back of the motor and reinstall them on the opposite side. Then install the screws. I re-used the original plastic squirrel cage fan after washing out the accumulated dust. I also treated the rusting housing where the fan goes with Rust Reformer.

Saved me a bunch of money

Great fan motor-its quiet- it was easily modified to replace a bad motor in a 665N bathroom light/fan/heater. It saved me having to retrofit a new unit in the existing opening. The price was great and shipping was prompt. I am so happy to have found McCombs Supply. I was up and running 20 minutes after opening the package

    Got my vent working again

Posted by lmeile on 8th May 2018

The replacement fan motor was suggested for my vent. As others have mentioned, the mounting bolts had to be reversed -- a very simple task. In my case, the new motor shaft was larger in diameter than the old one so I had to drill out the impeller hub to be able to press it onto the new shaft. Having a drill press helped assure that the drilled hole was straight so the impeller did not wobble. Still no big deal. The fan now works again and at a very reasonable price with prompt shipping.

Easy swap for a motor deemed "obsolete" by NuTone

Posted by Brad on 20th Jul 2016

Have a NuTone / Broan 668N with worn out motor bushings. To get this one to work, all that needed to be done was swap the bearing mounts and bolts with each other on the new motor. Took under 5 minutes. Make sure you tighten the bolts incrementally and evenly, as not doing so can bind the rotor shaft or make it noisy. I found it easiest to plug it in and run the motor without the impeller from the old assembly AS I tightened the bolts, so I could observe any binding or noise. YMMV

    Simple to repair older heater/fan...

Posted by Unknown on 2nd Jul 2016

We have two Nutone 9425F Bulb Heater fans and the vent motor went out on both after 30+ years. These replacements are the perfect match and we received them in days. Could have replaced the fans for many $$$ and hours of work, but for less than $20 they a humming like new!

    Cost effective repair

Posted by Joe Fucito on 22nd Jun 2016

Finally after 30 years, bathroom exhaust fan motor failed. Couldn't go without exhaust fan but replacing complete unit would have led to extensive work and cost in a space that will undergo a complete remodel in about 2 years. Stumbled across this motor at McCombs and it was the perfect solution. Web order process easy, communication re processing and shipping of my order was great, and product was the exact one I needed.

Nice replacement for Nutone 665N vent fan

Posted by Donald Fowler on 7th Dec 2015

I used this motor to replace the vent fan in a Nutone 665N heat/vent/light unit. Original motor was from Jakel. The Packard 65106 worked fine - I just had to turn the bolts around as advertised. Price was great - much cheaper than the CTS C53709 53709-000 J238-062-6146 motor advertised on Amazon.
