How does this Dryer Igniter work?
It works by glowing bright orange which triggers the burner to fire, allowing the dryer to produce consistent, reliable heat. Over time, igniters weaken, crack, or stop glowing altogether, which leads to symptoms like a dryer that tumbles but never heats, long dry times, or a burner that cycles without ignition.
When to Replace Your Gas Dryer Igniter:
Replacement is recommended whenever the igniter shows visible damage, fails a continuity test, or no longer reaches the temperature required to ignite the gas. Installing a new DS300K restores proper ignition performance and ensures safe, efficient dryer operation.
Always wear gloves when handling, and do NOT touch the igniter surface. Your fingers could leave excess oil which could cause hotspots and cause the igniter to malfunction. Never touch the igniter surface when hot.
