Would be nice to have directions on how to wire motor to idler switch.
This motor was an exact fit and works fine. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it required a jumper (to accommodate a belt break interlock) to run. Thankfully, I got a reply to an email request for technical support in a few hours with instructions to install the jumper. McCombs' pricing, quick delivery and tech support worked for me to get my old dryer running again!
10-18-2022 In the process of installing it. I am missing the fan blower and I am waiting for it to come. You did not have it. I will let you know when I fully install it.
Delivery was received the very next day which was awesome. The motor was easy to install and works beautifully. My only complaint is the there was no instructions on how to wire the broken belt switch. Fortunately, this was the second time I replaced the, got it from Amazon, and already knew what to do with the wire. I'm very happy with my purchase and would buy it again from McCombs.

Nice replacement but the instructions aren’t very clear
The 1 page wiring instruction included for the broken belt relay is totally inadequate. I resolved the issue by finding a You Tube video. The video exists because the person commented that he had wasted 2 hours on the inadequate wiring instructions and resolved the issue by consulting a friend who is an Electrical Engnr.
Motor is installed an appears to be working fine.

Motor fit perfectly and the price was less than half of other retailers. Wiring harness snapped right in. The only issue I had was wiring the broken belt switch. The diagram was a bit fuzzy and my eyes a little old. Took a second attempt to get it right. Paid for expedited shipping and still saved a bunch. Would definitely go back to McCombs supply again for appliance parts.

Selected UPS Ground shipping (from Pennsylvania) and very pleasantly surprised to receive it 2 days later in Utah. Installed nicely. Only suggestion/complaint is I had to adapt the original wiring using the supplied wires to accommodate this replacement motor and the accompanying diagram had no written instructions, which meant I spent a good deal of time trying to figure out exactly what wire to cut to wire-nut to the supplied wire and which wire to connect to using the other supplied wire. I eventually figured it out since one supplied wire had connectors on both ends and the other supplied wire had only one connector with the other end stripped ready for a wire-nut.

I wished I lived in Lancaster, PA so I could just drop by and visit McCombs Supply Co. But calling them worked great too. The Rep found the Motor I needed for my 15 year old Kenmore Series 90 Dryer, and for $5.00 Shipping I got it practically the next day. Their price was 2/3rds less that any local appliance parts store near me!! Just installed it last night and my wife is happy again, which means I am too. Thanks McCombs!
This is a replacement motor for my dryer. Only issue that I do have is it's not an exact replica of my motor and requires rewiring. It would be more helpful if you could raise the price 20 or 30 cents more and provide a color copy of how to rewire it instead of a black and white copy. I've spent more time researching how it is supposed to go than anything. You beat everyone's prices and would get more positive reviews if simple issues like this were resolved and noted on description that a color copy is included
Replacement part for 279787 Dryer Motor.
Is so much louder than the old one was that it's almost scary! And yes, we have it installed properly. Now, my Kenmore Elite Quietpak9 He4 is no longer quiet. :-(
But at least it works.
